So all of the above is why I hesitate to book Seafire again but maybe I should give them another chance. ![]() But, of course, not associated with the trip. What was really neat is that we saw a HUGE turtle on the beach in the little cove to the south of the Kihei boat ramp that was neat. The day ended with the 'turtle town' which was just around the corner from where we embarked/disembarked and was very cloudy and no one came in the water with us I couldn't see anything but thankfully my granddaughter saw a few turtles. I know everyone with a business has an off-day so I always hesitate to post anything less than positive, but given the whole day being like that, and no one correcting the employee that responded to my question or adding a kinder explanation, along with the general crabby attitudes throughout the day, makes me think this is an attitude that may come from the top. Not really having a lot of experience with dolphins, I asked why they were called spinner dolphins (as all we say was their backs going into and out of the water.) The one girl/woman said-very condescendingly-"because they spin." Well, I certainly didn't see them spinning (as I did on a later trip with Trilogy) so it was a valid question. ![]() On the way back, we saw some dolphins and they said they were spinner dolphins. At one point, one of the guides pointed out a white-tipped shark to us but that was it. They then took us to the backside of Molokini which was great. My granddaughter and I are pretty avid and experienced snorkelers and no one really ever approached us to point out anything which was fine. We finally got way and went to the inside crater portion of Molokini first. They had some breakfast-like components that they just laid out on the check-in table and then we waited a long time for 3 people to show up. The morning started off kind of bumpy as they seemed disgruntled and crabby and said one of their engines was out or compromised in some way so it would be a slower ride and maybe affect where we went. It was less than I expected, or have experienced before, on such excursions though. We loved that they took us to the backside of Molokini. Mtinbc1, I went on Seafire with my granddaughter 2 years ago.
